Acceptance of Terms

By using AdaptoSecret, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

What AdaptoSecret Does

AdaptoSecret is a zero-knowledge secret sharing service. You can create encrypted, self-destructing links to share passwords, keys, and other sensitive text. Secrets are encrypted in your browser before reaching our servers. We never see your plaintext data.

You can configure secrets to expire after a certain time (1 hour, 24 hours, or 7 days) or after a limited number of views (1, 3, or 10). Once consumed or expired, the encrypted data is permanently deleted.

We Cannot Recover Your Secret

This is by design. The encryption key is embedded in the link you share and is never sent to our servers. If you lose the link, we cannot help you recover the secret. If the recipient loses the link before viewing it, the secret cannot be retrieved.

There is no "forgot my secret" feature. There is no support ticket that can bring back a consumed or expired secret. This limitation is the foundation of our security model.

Data Retention

• Encrypted secret content: Deleted immediately upon final view (for view-limited secrets) or upon expiration.
• Metadata (timestamps, view counts): Retained up to 24 hours after deletion of the secret content, then permanently purged.
• Rate-limit counters: Expire automatically after 60 seconds.
• Application logs: Retained for 90 days. Contain hashed identifiers only, not your secret content or the full share URL.

Limitation of Liability

AdaptoSecret is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AdapToIT, LLC and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. This includes but is not limited to:

• Lost secrets due to link loss, expiration, or technical issues
• Unauthorized access to your secrets by third parties who obtain the link
• Service outages or data loss
• Any damages arising from reliance on the service

Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service (which is zero for the free tier).

Acceptable Use

You agree to use AdaptoSecret only for lawful purposes and in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy. We reserve the right to terminate access for users who violate these terms or the AUP.

Privacy

Our handling of any data we collect is described in our Privacy Policy. The short version: we collect minimal data, we cannot read your secrets, and we delete everything as quickly as possible.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California.
